Final Card

This is my last card to post for this year's Christmas cards.  We had a late night yesterday, so didn't get it posted yesterday.

This card was a navy blue background and Die Cuts With a View blue metallic run through my Big Shot using the Lace Tree embossing folder by Cuttlebug.

I made a total of 58 cards this year. In January, I will be starting on next year's cards.  SplitCoast Stampers has a Christmas Card challenge to make your desired number of cards each month, so that there is no mad dash in November or December to complete them.  It worked quite well for me following that this year, and I will do the same next year.

Christmas Card #4

This is the 4th in a series of cards.  I had cut out the frames to use for a different project years ago, but did not use them for that.  The stamp is from Stampin' Up and was stamped directly onto the white card stock with Versamark, then embossed with black embossing powder.  I colored the cards 4 different ways, using colored pencils.  I then glued the frame around the scene.

Tomorrow, I will post my last card.

Happy Winter

This is the 3rd card I made for Christmas this year, actually 2 versions of the same thing.  I used a brayer on glossy card stock with a Colorbox multi pad.  The Santa stamp is by PaperArtsy and is stamped with black Staz-On ink.  The pictures don't really show the cards to their full beauty unfortunately.  This was one of my favorite cards to make.

Christmas Cards pt 2

This is the 2nd of my Christmas Cards this year.  I used a navy blue card stock, then layered on DCWV blue metallic card stock and a pre-cut scalloped rectangle which was stamped with Scrappy Snowman by Posh Impressions.  I stamped him with Versamark, embossed with silver embossing powder, then sprayed with iridescent Spray and Sparkle.

Stay tuned for the next installment.

Christmas Cards

Here is the first of 5 different Christmas Card designs I made this year.

I took a dark green card stock and had the red pieces left over from another card I made.  I stamped the Inkadinkado Snowman with Versamark and used white embossing powder to complete him.

This was my Thanksgiving card for this year.  I took a sheet of light brown cardstock and using the direct to paper technique mottled it with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and punched using a Marvy textured leaf punch.  The leaves were placed on a strip of burlap ribbon and the quote is from Dee Gruenig Posh Impressions stamps using copper embossing powder.  All is done on metallic brown cardstock.

Get Well card

I made this card for a friend who had surgery.  The stamps are Tim Holtz blueprint and E K Success Scrabble letters.  I stamped all in black Staz-On ink.  The card base is a design I found on SplitCoast Stampers called Building Blocks.  It was an interestsing pattern to make, but I am very pleased with the results.

Happy Halloween

These are my halloween cards for this year.

This top card is Michael Strong case'd. I used 3 different templates to make the background.  I took index cards and cut out different circular patterns, then used them by sponging ink off of the edge of the card onto my cardstock using Midnight Blue Staz-On ink.  The stamp is from Michael Strong's Halloween collection, and the spider is one of his die cuts and attached to the card front.

This card was made using Fiskars scallop border punch to make the roof edge.  I stamped the ghost and embossed it in white. The door is a die cut from Memory Box and actually opens.

Happy Retirement

I have a good friend retiring on Monday.  This is the card I made for this momentous occasion.  I cased it from the Michael Strong stamps group. The background is his cloisonne frame stamp that I colored with Marvy markers, then cut out the frames with Spellbinders labels.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and used white embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps.

Matchbook card

This is the card I made for Mother's Day this year.  It is a fun design, different from a standard card.  It was made with 1 sheet of 4 1/4 x 11 card stock.  Score at 1 1/2" and 7 1/2".  Fold, and then staple the 1 1/2" fold 1" from the bottom.  Fold the 2nd score and tuck under the edge of the bottom fold.  I used  a piece of printed paper of poppies for the bottom part.  The top area is stamped and then I used colored pencils to color in some of the flowers.  The top picture is of the card closed and the bottom picture shows it open.

Disney card

I have many friends who love/are fanatical Disney fans.  This was the birthday card I made for one this last month.  It is actually part of the leftovers from one of my Easter Cards.  I used a part of the Michael Strong  Cloisonne Nesting Squares stamp that was left and cut out a square from a full sheet of squares of Disney characters. The quote is a Stampressions stamp.

I needed a birthday card for a good friend today.  This is done with the SplitCoast stampers card sketch from yesterday.  The stamps are StampinUp and Michael Strong.  I made the green edging using my Victorian decorative scissors.

Easter Cards

I made 2 different Easter Cards this year.  The top one is made using Michael Strong's Cloisonne Nesting Squares stamp and his Seasonal Silhouettes.  I took a sheet of pink paper and used Dee Gruenig's Shades of Pink Blending Block direct to paper to color the sheet and then stamped with Versamark and white embossing powder.
This second card was made using Cookie Cutters Easter Egg stencil with multiple colors of ink and Darcie's Friend for all Seasons Chickie on shrink plastic.

FlipIt

I made this card for my niece's birthday a few months ago.  It is made with the Circle FlipIt die from Sizzix. The dies do everything for you, just pick out coordinating papers and you have a fun card.  Next time I'll try it with bright colors and flowers.

Keep Looking Up

Our sky viewing friend is celebrating his birthday today, and this is a fun picture we took many years ago when he was having problems with his motorhome.  I took the picture, printed it on photo paper and then did a custom paint job on the door and side of the motorhome.  Plus added the words "Keep Looking Up" as a fun card for him.

Baby Girl Onesie

I needed a card for a new baby girl and found the idea for this card on Pinterest.  It is a 4 1/4 by 5/12 base that I used a
1 3/4" circle die cut to cut out the neck and leg holes.  I then used a slightly larger scalloped circle die to make the lace.  I stamped the butterflies with Versamark ink and added 3 white rivets/snaps at the bottom to replicate the snaps and finished it off with the white bow.

Projects, projects, projects

I have been busy making Christmas cards, which I will share later. I unofficially decided to follow the Christmas Card Challenge on SplitCoast Stampers and complete 5 cards a month between January and November.  It is working out well, so that I can relax and not sweat it out to get my cards completed in time to mail out this year.

Wedding Card

I made this card for a niece's wedding last month.  I cased a card that I made in Michael Strong's class for white on white.  It is made with flat and pearl white cardstock and the box folds perfectly flat for mailing.  The large flowers were punched using Tonic 2 part dimensional punches.  I love how they come out.

Balloon Birthday Card

I made this card for several birthdays this year.  I used Marvy Markers to color all the balloons, and used 2 different colors for shading on the Happy Birthday balloon.  The strings were  drawn in using a gold Sharpie marker. I layered the card with a matting layer and a gold colored card base.  This is a quick and simple card for those last minute birthday card needs.

Sympathy Card

This is a card I made last year for a co-worker who lost a family member.  I CASEd it from a card I found on SplitCoast Stampers.  I love the way it came out.  I used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirl embossing folder and Tim Holtz Distressed Flowers Die. The saying and flowers are stamped with white Memories ink.

Iris Folding

After all these years, I have decided to reactivate my blog.  I recently retired and have been spending lots of time in my crafting room.  Here is a picture of the card I made today using Michael Strong's kimono die cut and 2 different sheets of Washi paper.  I have only done iris folding 1 previous time in class, but really like the way it came out.
